We see the value in everyone. We want to be a catalyst for positive change, and since our conception in 2018 we’ve been driven by the same ideas: support, empowerment, and progress. Learn more about our mission, our vision, and how we go about making the changes we want to see.
Our Value Statement
Impact: Our goal is to create a measurable difference in the lives of our stakeholders at all levels. This is evident in the growing quality of produce that meets global trade standards. We're providing greater access to market opportunities for our farming partners, and a shifting global perspective in the habits of buyers. We measure impact at all levels.
Co-operation (Partnership or Mutuality): We believe our work is as much about educating buyers as it is about bringing products to market. Our efforts are two-fold and rely heavily on established partnerships that focus on co-operation and mutuality.
Sustainability: We believe in working ourselves out of a job. At Cultivate, we facilitate equitable relationships that eventually last without external support. We set up models that are self-sustaining and can be replicated across various geographical areas.
Excellence: We believe that with the right support, our partners are able to meet international standards with their products. We work with buyers who understand that high quality product and value driven practices are both indicators of excellence.
At Cultivate Foundation we build roadmaps to opportunity by identifying partners, building capacity and increasing opportunities.
We identify partners. We recognize the strength of our work is measured by the health of our relationships. We practice a culture of listening. We understand the needs of our extended team-- from the buyer based in an office in California to the farmer working a field in Ghana (and to all the roles in between). We identify partners that share our values of impact, co-operation, sustainability and excellence and spend enormous amounts of time investing in relationships that work.
We enhance capacity. We understand that there are gaps in knowledge, opportunity and resources at various levels. At Cultivate, we bridge this gap by investing in skills development (in global agricultural best practice) and by providing logistical support through the supply of practical resources to our partners working hard on the ground.
We increase opportunities. At Cultivate, we understand that access to opportunity is key to making a difference in the lives of farmers across the globe. Strategic introductions and relationship building are tasks we take very seriously. Our networks are our strongest asset and we invest time and energy building systems that last.
